I've been meaning to finish this mini-book for the past two months and am finally getting to it now. Back in December I asked Larry Desautels, a friend, writer & professor in Buffalo, NY, to help me with the foreword to my book, The Height of Land. Larry decided to write a poem to introduce the work and I sent him some photographs from the Hubbard expedition to assist in his writing. Unfortunately the book went to press before Larry had a chance to finish his writing so I decided to create a separate mini-book for the poem. I am very pleased to share On the Trail, for Leonidas Hubbard, a new book I've made using Larry's writing accompanied with Leonidas Hubbard & Dillon Wallace's photographs from 1903.
Larry's poem is beautiful and haunting. It's perfect for the Hubbard story and I'm so thrilled with this collaboration. I am almost done with the print files (still tweaking text layout & size), I will then be printing and binding them in the studio. The book is 5" tall, by 4" wide/ 8" page spread. The book will be available shortly through Houseboat Press for $5. Stay tuned.
